Bio - Ophelia Coppers applied to the London police right out of college, and served with distinction. Although she had a reputation of being rough with suspects, nothing could ever be proven. She was assigned to assist a detachment of the British military on an anti-terrorist sweep following the 7/7 bombings, and impressed the brass so much, they poached her for a special unit they were putting together to monitor the Unseelie Court, the secret and supernatural side of reality. 

It was while on assignment that Ophelia ran afoul one Doctor Hendrick Stoeppel, a Dutch biochemist wanted by both Seelie and Unseelie Courts for his crimes. Cornering Stoeppel in his lab, Ophelia attempted an arrest, when she met the good Doctor's bad self, a towering, grinning cannibal calling himself Master Tobias Shirke. Shirke overpowered Ophelia, but rather than kill and eat her, another primal instinct took the behemoth over - reproduction. Not wanting to kill a prospective mate, Shirke subjected Ophelia to the same treatments Stoeppel underwent to unleash his Shirke persona. However, Ophelia woke before the treatment could be completed, and escaped. Although the treatment was incomplete, it still changed the young woman on an elemental level. Whenever her adrenaline levels get too high, she becomes a rabid marauder, unable to tell friend from foe. 

Keeping her condition a secret from her superiors proved impossible, and Ophelia was blacklisted from operations. Refusing to let this stand, she seeks out a means to reverse what Shirke did to her. Hitting her old Unseelie informants, she learned of the College of Anguiria, the ancient repository of arcane and universal knowledge, and how it may contain the information she needs. 
However, the College is also sought after by many others who would either destroy it or take it's knowledge for themselves.
